Giving Back

At Cairncross & Hempelmann we believe in the importance of community. Consequently, we encourage all of our employees (attorneys and staff) to participate in community-centric organizations that mean something to them as individuals. In addition, many of our attorneys provide pro bono services to organizations like the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, KEXP FM, and KidsQuest Children's Museum. In addition, we have an active non-profit practice, whereby we assist organizations created to provide community support in a non-profit area, including The Moyer Foundation, Sealaska, and the Legal Foundation of Washington.

Many of our attorneys are active in the American, Washington State and King County Bar Associations, as well as Washington Women Lawyers, the Loren Miller Bar Association of Washington, the GLBT Bar Association of Washington, the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Washington, the South Asian Bar Association of Washington, and the Asian American Bar Association.

Our lawyers have previously served and continue to serve on the respective governing bodies for the Hearing, Speech, and Deafness Center in Seattle; Seattle Opera and Foundation; KEXP FM; Seattle's Cross Cultural Health Care Program; Seattle Art Museum’s Decorative Arts and Paintings Council; King County Sexual Assault Resource Center; the Legal Committee of the Washington Forest Protection Association; Turnaround Management Association Endowment Fund; the Alaskan Way Viaduct Leadership Committee of the Alaskan Way Viaduct/Seawall Coalition; the Henry M. Jackson Foundation; ArtsWest; and NAIOP.
