Established legal advisor and hospitality industry expert, Greg Duff joined Cairncross & Hempelmann in 2002 and soon thereafter formed the Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Practice, which he now chairs. With specialized experience in hospitality development (including mixed-use and condominium hotels), hotel management and operations, franchising, sales and marketing and licensing, Greg brings a unique perspective and advisement capacity to each engagement.
Greg formerly served as Vice President of Development and General Counsel to Cairncross & Hempelmann client Columbia Hospitality, where he oversaw several ongoing development initiatives and managed Columbia's efforts in the development of the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences in downtown Seattle. Prior to joining Cairncross, Greg served as Senior Corporate Counsel at the Webvan Group (formerly HomeGrocer.com) and Assistant General Counsel for Starwood Hotels and Resorts (formerly The Westin Hotel Company).
Greg's current list of clients include Marriott International, Hyatt Corporation, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, The Hotel Group, Columbia Hospitality, North Pacific Management, Westmont Hospitality, Kennedy & Associates, Wasatch Premier Hospitality and the Chambers Group.
Greg serves on the board of the KidsQuest Children's Museum. He is a member of the Washington Technology Industry Association, the Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association, the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, the Global Alliance of Hospitality Attorneys, the Oregon Lodging Association, and the International Association of Conference Centers.
