John Hempelmann Recognized by Henry M. Jackson Foundation

social-media-jwh-and-hmj-foundation-photo.jpgJohn Hempelmann, Chairman and Founder of Cairncross & Hempelmann, was recently recognized for his service by the Henry M. Jackson Foundation.  This Seattle-area Foundation was founded in 1983 to continue the unfinished work of the late Senator Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson and it provides grants, strategic initiatives in key areas, and fellowship opportunities.

John has served as the Foundation’s President of the Board for the last ten years.  As described in the Foundation’s blog post: “His interest and determination have pushed us to be creative, particularly as we established our Jackson Leadership Fellows Program, which we dreamt up during John’s tenure and immediately found to be a success beyond our expectations.”

During this time, John helped lead the strategic initiatives to support the Foundation’s four Program Areas: International Affairs Education, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Public Service, and Human Rights.

John will remain on the Board, and is pleased to congratulate Vice President Craig Gannett, Partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, to the post of the President.
