Cairncross & Hempelmann attorney Aditi Paranjpye participates in the 34th Annual NW Bankruptcy Institute Live Webcast.

Aditi joins a panel titled “Subchapter V and Small Business Considerations.”  Panelists include The Hon. Paul Bonapfel (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta, GA), Oren Haker (Stoel Rives, Portland, OR), and Amy Mitchell (Chapter 7 Trustee, Lake Oswego, OR).  Subchapter V of Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code was enacted in February 2020 and has implications for small businesses.  The panel will discuss the immediate impacts and trends observed about Subchapter V.

The Northwest Bankruptcy Institute hosts an annual meeting co-sponsored by the Debtor Rights Sections from the Washington State and Oregon State Bar Associations.  This year’s meeting features timely topics in the era of COVID-19, including how the pandemic has changed debtor-creditor bankruptcy law, mediation in the pandemic, and an exploration of a special assets approach for a post-lockdown economy.
