John Hempelmann is Pleased to be a Member of Seattle’s Affordable Middle-Income Housing Advisory Council

Earlier this week Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced the establishment of Seattle’s first-ever Affordable Middle-Income Housing Advisory Council.  The Advisory Council will identify investment strategies and related tools to help close existing market gaps and attract significant capital investment to create more for-rent and for-sale homes that are affordable to Seattle’s middle-income wage earners.

John Hempelmann, Chairman and Founder of Cairncross & Hempelmann, joined this prestigious Council that encompasses members with vast knowledge and years of expertise in the housing development and investment industries. “We need to keep our teachers, police officers, firefighters, health care providers, and other middle income citizens and their families in our City. We need to make sure there are good housing options for them. Among other things, our plan is to attract more investment and development for middle-income housing and to provide substantial mixed-income housing options around our new Light Rail Stations. If people have access to high-capacity transit they can save money for housing, education and other needs,” said John Hempelmann.
