Sarah is a member of the firm's Real Estate and Corporate practice groups. She has over a decade of experience in leasing, acquisition, disposition, development and redevelopment of real estate, including retail, industrial, and office properties. She has extensive skills in handling all real estate matters related to M&A transactions.  Sarah’s practice also includes advising clients on the operation and redevelopment of their real estate assets.

As leasing counsel, Sarah works to ensure that all parties recognize that they are entering into a long-term relationship. Her clients rely on her direct approach, which effectively harnesses the interplay of the business objectives, legal issues and operational needs associated with these relationships.

Prior to joining the firm, Sarah obtained a Master of Business Administration degree, with dual majors in finance and accounting, from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Experience & Results

  • Represented retail and industrial REITs in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development, re-development, financing, and leasing
  • Drafted and negotiated purchase and sale agreements as primary counsel in multiple acquisition and disposition transactions located across the United States
  • Drafted and negotiated leases and lease amendments on behalf of tenants and landlords of industrial, office, and retail properties
  • Drafted and negotiated complex multi-party agreements, such as REAs, supplemental agreements, and indemnity agreements, in connection with the development and re-development of shopping centers
  • Conducted and coordinated due diligence review for portfolio acquisitions and financing, including reviewing joint venture agreements, loan agreements, leasing agreements, REAs, supplemental agreements, and title and surveys
  • Assisted retail property owners in the management of their real estate assets
  • Advised private equity firms in real estate matters relating to acquisitions of target companies
  • Identified and researched issues and disputes related to CAM, real estate tax, and maintenance and repair
