CH& Supports Lambert House

This quarter, CH& supports Lambert House through our Charitable Giving Program.

Lambert House is a community center on Capitol Hill in Seattle for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.  The center hosts regular activities, support groups, dances and other events for LGBTQ+ youth to find community and support.  Every day, 20-40 youth visit the center to enjoy the large living rooms, pool table, music station, library, counselors and other resources.  Community building is very important to help prevent the constellation of risks that disproportionately affect LGBTQ+ youth, including social isolation, depression, substance abuse, and family conflict.  The community includes other youth, role models and supportive adults to help make life better.

Lambert House was founded and received 501(c)3 status in 1981.  In 1991 the organization had the opportunity to lease an old Victorian house on Capitol Hill and named the site after Gray Lambert, a local LGBTQ+ youth advocate who helped secure funding for the home.  Please visit the Lambert House website to learn more.
