CH& Announces Its Newest Partners Nicole De Leon and Aurelia Tunru
Cairncross & Hempelmann (CH&) is pleased to announce Nicole De Leon and Aurelia Tunru as its newest partners, effective January 1, 2021. “They have both demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the firm and our collective success, and they will be excellent additions to the principal group. They have been, and will continue to be, an important part of the firm achieving its goals for many years to come,” said Matt Hanna, CH& Managing Partner.
Since joining the firm in 2014, Nicole has become an integral member of the CH& Land Use group. She works with real estate developers to efficiently shepherd projects through the land use entitlement process. Clients rely on Nicole’s expertise and strategic counsel to secure approvals for developments, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, assisted living, hospitals, schools, and religious facilities. Her ability to focus on the details of a development project without losing sight of the big picture, coupled with her sharp legal analysis and interpersonal skills, make an effective combination to achieve success for her clients.
Nicole stays active in the community through her continuing pro bono endeavors with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and Promise of Justice Initiative, and her participation with NAIOP. She was recently recognized on the “Ones to Watch” list by The Best Lawyers in America.
Aurelia joined CH& and became a core member of the Business group in 2016. Her practice focuses on advising public and private companies in complex transactions. She works primarily with emerging and mid-growth companies providing counsel on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, commercial contracts, and corporate governance. Aurelia engages collaboratively with team members and opposing counsel, maintaining open lines of communication to efficiently seek the best result for all those involved.
Aurelia served as the Chair of the King County Bar Association Business Law Section and was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.
